Noodles and rice are staples in most of Asia. But have you wondered how noodles are made?
They are made from unleavened dough which is stretched or rolled flat and cut into one of a variety of shapes. There are many techniques for making them from long, thin strips to strings, shells and even the folded over variety.
While they are sometimes fried, most often, much like pasta, noodles are usually cooked in boiling water and served with an accompanying sauce or in a seasoning heavy soup.
Fun fact: Noodles hae been around for centuries and were a staple food for the people of the Han dynasty as early as 206 BCE.
